Housekeeper & Maintenance Supervisor

Cedar House Restaurant & Chalets and Alpine Meadows Lodge, located in Golden, BC, are looking for a reliable, hands-on Housekeeper & Maintenance Supervisor to join our team.

This position is responsible for supervising housekeeping operations while assisting with general maintenance and property upkeep. The successful candidate should be organized, practical, dependable, and comfortable working independently.

Responsibilities

Housekeeping

• Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping activities.
• Assign rooms and cleaning tasks to housekeeping staff.
• Inspect rooms, chalets, and common areas to ensure cleanliness and quality.
• Train and support housekeeping staff.
• Assist with cleaning, laundry, restocking supplies, and hot tub maintenance.
• Report damages, maintenance issues, and safety concerns.
• Monitor housekeeping supplies and inventory.

Maintenance & Property Upkeep

• Inspect and maintain rooms, chalets, facilities, furnishings, and equipment.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance.
• Handle basic plumbing and electrical tasks, such as sinks, toilets, and light bulbs.
• Assist with painting, drywall repairs, caulking, renovations, and facility upgrades.
• Maintain common areas and grounds, including snow/ice removal, grass cutting, debris removal, weeds, and gutters.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, lawn equipment, and other equipment.
• Ensure tools, equipment, and supplies are properly stored and maintained.
• Identify and resolve maintenance or safety issues proactively.

Supervision & Guest Service

• Coordinate housekeeping and maintenance priorities.
• Communicate effectively with management and staff.
• Respond to guest concerns related to cleanliness or maintenance in a professional manner.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for guests.

Requirements

• Housekeeping and/or maintenance experience preferred.
• Supervisory experience is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and take on different tasks.
• Physically able to lift and carry medium/heavy items.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
• Experience with equipment such as mowers or Bobcat/skid steer is an asset.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and statutory holidays.
• Driver's license is an asset.
