Get Wild! Summer Day Camp

  • Location: Golden, BC (In-person)

  • Compensation: $25/hr

  • Terms: Full-time (35 hours/week) | June 15 – August 26, 2026

  • Core Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (8-week camp)

 

About Wildsight Golden & Get Wild! Camp

Wildsight Golden is a non-profit environmental organization dedicated to maintaining biodiversity and healthy human communities in our region.

Now entering its 12th year, our Get Wild! Summer Day Camp provides a dynamic outdoor education program for children aged 6 to 10. We pride ourselves on a "learning by doing" philosophy, local collaborations, and community projects. This camp is all about spending the whole day outdoors—rain or shine—fostering healthy relationships, and guiding children through playful, experiential learning. It is meant to be a fun, inspiring summer for both campers and staff!

 

The Role

Wildsight Golden is looking for a highly motivated, organized, and outdoors-loving individual to lead and coordinate our Get Wild! Summer Camp. Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will design the curriculum, oversee day-to-day operations, and ensure a safe, inclusive, and memorable summer for local youth.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Development: Design a fun, safe, and inclusive outdoor activity program that connects youth with nature and the Golden community.
  • Camp Coordination: Manage the day-to-day operations of the camp, including safety plans, activity schedules, weekly field trips, transportation, and camp supplies.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Work as a team with, mentor, and supervise a Camp Counsellor.
  • Community Liaison: Communicate effectively with parents, board directors, and staff.
  • Administration: Maintain accurate records, manage volunteer coordination, and handle sensitive information confidentially.

 

What You Bring

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with children.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and organizing programs or events.
  • A genuine passion for environmental education and the outdoors.
  • Must pass a Criminal Record Check (due by June 22, 2026).

Assets:

  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Standard First Aid certification.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Background in Environmental Science or outdoor education.
  • Outdoor skill certifications.

Compensation

$25.00/per hour
