About Wildsight Golden & Get Wild! Camp
Wildsight Golden is a non-profit environmental organization dedicated to maintaining biodiversity and healthy human communities in our region.
Our Get Wild! Summer Day Camp provides an outdoor education program for children aged 6 to 10. Our mission is to inspire youth to connect with our community and nature through fun, inclusive, outdoor activities. We pride ourselves on a "learning by doing" philosophy and local collaborations. This camp is all about spending the whole day outdoors—rain or shine—fostering healthy relationships, and guiding children through playful, experiential learning.
The Role
Wildsight Golden is seeking a team-oriented, creative, and energetic individual to join us as a Camp Counsellor. Reporting to the Summer Environmental Education Coordinator, you will be a role model who ensures a safe, fun, and compassionate environment for our campers.
This position is perfectly suited for a local high school student looking for a fun, active job during their summer break!
Key Responsibilities:
- Camper Care & Safety: Maintain a safe, inclusive, and fun environment for all campers.
- Relationship Building: Foster healthy friendships among campers and help connect them with the local community.
- Activity Leadership: Confidently guide groups of excited children through multiple simultaneous outdoor activities.
- Environmental Role Modeling: Bring out the best in campers by modeling a passion for nature and positive group dynamics.
What You Bring
Requirements:
- A strong interest in working with children and a passion for environmental education.
- Physical readiness for a job that takes place entirely outdoors, rain or shine.
- Excellent multitasking skills and the ability to manage groups of energetic kids.
- Criminal Record Check (due by June 26, 2026).
Assets:
- Standard First Aid certification.
- Leadership or previous camp/babysitting experience.
- Outdoor skills.
