SCHEDULE - 24 - 28 hrs/wk to be determined.
Tuesday to Friday 9am until 4 pm

The job will be posted until filled or September 11, 2026.
The position reports to the Centre Manager and the GCRS Executive Director

ROLE SUMMARY

The Client Service and Employment Resource Advisor is the first contact for clients, guests and Ministry staff accessing the Golden WorkBC centre via phone or in person. This position will create a welcoming and professional environment for all guests entering the centre as well as ensuring all Clients accessing the Self-Serve area enjoy a high level of satisfaction and are provided with a consistent, professional and welcoming environment. They will be responsible for liaising with Employment Counsellors and other staff to ensure that the self-serve services are relevant to the community and Clients’ needs. This role provides clients with the information, tools and resources to enable them to undertake job search, career planning, self-assessment, labour market research or other employability-related activities as independently as possible. This role also provides basic job search instruction and technical support, as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Demonstrated experience providing customer service, resolving issues both in person and in a virtual service delivery environment 
  • Demonstrated experience working with individuals with complex barriers and a broad range of cultural backgrounds; and building partnerships with employers, community agencies, and other stakeholders
  • Knowledge of the local labour market, community resources, government programs, knowledge of job search techniques, career development, and issues relating to unemployment
  • Team player with ability to work effectively with all types of people and the ability to work independently
  • Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with strong verbal communications skills; ability to successfully communicate with persons with barriers to employment
  • Excellent customer service skills, administrative and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and work independently
  • Excellent diplomacy, teamwork and problem-solving skills
  • Strong digital literacy skills including Microsoft Office Suite, web conferencing and delivery tools including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and others
  • Solid understanding of confidentiality and other professional codes of conduct; must submit for a criminal record check
  • Ability to work occasionally outside required business hours if required

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in French and/or other languages in addition to English
  • Comfort and proficiency using Social Media
  • Experience with Ministry and other online tools such as ICM, online employment services

 

Education/Certifications:

  • Post-secondary certificate, degree, or diploma in a relevant field (e.g. administration, career or
  • employment development, vocational rehabilitation, social work, psychology, sociology, human
  • services, counselling, education, or human resources management), preferred, or equivalent
  • experience

Compensation

$23.00-$24.00/per hour
