Alarm Response / Mobile Security Guard – On-Call
The Alarm Response Security Guard is responsible for responding to alarm activations and emergency call-outs on a casual, on-call basis. This role involves attending client sites promptly upon dispatch, assessing situations, securing the property, and ensuring the safety of assets, personnel, and premises.
This position requires a high level of vigilance, rapid response capability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision during unpredictable hours.
Key Responsibilities:
Alarm Response & Dispatch:
- Respond promptly to alarm activations, emergency calls, or client requests as dispatched.
- Attend sites within required response times using a marked vehicle (where applicable).
- Liaise with alarm monitoring companies and follow dispatch instructions.
Site Assessment & Patrol:
- Conduct thorough exterior and/or interior patrols upon arrival to identify signs of forced entry, damage, or suspicious activity.
- Check all access points including doors, windows, gates, and locks.
- Ensure the property is secure before clearing the call.
Incident Handling:
- Investigate the cause of alarms and determine whether they are false alarms or legitimate threats.
- Take appropriate action in case of break-ins, trespassing, vandalism, or other incidents.
- Remain on-site until the situation is resolved or emergency services arrive, if required.
Emergency Response:
- Contact police, fire, or emergency services when necessary.
- Provide accurate and timely information to dispatch and emergency responders.
- Assist with basic first aid if trained and required.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Complete detailed incident reports for every call-out, including observations, actions taken, and outcomes.
- Take photos (if required) to support reports and client documentation.
- Maintain communication logs with dispatch or supervisors.
Property Security:
- Reset alarm systems where authorized.
- Secure any compromised entry points temporarily (if possible) and notify appropriate contacts.
- Ensure the site is left in a safe and secure condition before departure.
Customer Interaction:
- Communicate professionally with clients, property managers, or authorized contacts when on-site.
- Provide updates regarding incidents or security concerns as required.
Job Types: Part-time, Casual
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
