About Wildernest Childcare

Wildernest Childcare is a licensed group childcare center opening March 2026 just 10 minutes south of Golden, BC. Our program provides high-quality care for children aged 3-5 years, with a strong emphasis on outdoor learning, exploration, and holistic development. We are committed to creating a positive environment not just for children, but also for our educators, recognizing that happy, well-supported caregivers create the best experiences for children.

About the Position

We are looking for an educator who would like to join the team as the lead ECE onsite and help create a healthy, supportive environment that will accommodate 8 children, with ambitions to grow. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of establishing a new childcare space and provide input into the development of routines, systems and areas for the children to learn and thrive.

This is a full-time, permanent position with competitive wages and a supportive workplace culture.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that support children's learning and well-being
• Supervise and engage with children during indoor and outdoor play, meals, and rest time
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all children
• Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
• Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and management
• Observe, document, and assess children's progress and behaviors
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards in the childcare facility
• Work collaboratively with fellow educators to support program goals
• Other duties as assigned within the child care.

Requirements

• Valid Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate in BC
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Clear Criminal Record Check
• A passion for outdoor learning and child development
• Ability to work alone with max 8 kids.
• Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Experience in a licensed childcare setting (preferred)
• Additional courses/training related to child growth and development an asset
