The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Bookkeeper Reviewer who will play a key role in maintaining quality, consistency, and continuity across our client work.

This role is a mix of:

  • Reviewing bookkeeping work completed by team members
  • Providing thoughtful, constructive feedback
  • Acting as stand-by / back-up coverage when team members are on vacation, sick, or on leave

You are not here to “police” work—you’re here to support excellence, mentor quietly, and step in confidently when needed.

Key Responsibilities

Review & Quality Control

  • Review monthly/quarterly bookkeeping files for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Ensure reconciliations, filings, and documentation meet internal standards
  • Identify trends or recurring issues and flag them proactively

Team Support & Coverage

  • Step in as back-up bookkeeper during planned or unplanned team absences
  • Maintain continuity for clients with minimal disruption
  • Support team members with questions and best practices when needed

Collaboration & Communication

  • Share feedback respectfully and clearly, with a coaching mindset
  • Collaborate openly in shared client spaces (not private silos)
  • Escalate concerns early and honestly—no silent fixing

Process Improvement

  • Contribute ideas to improve workflows, checklists, and systems
  • Help strengthen consistency across the team without overcomplicating things

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience
  • Strong review skills—you naturally catch details others miss
  • Comfortable working across multiple clients and industries
  • Confident with cloud accounting tools (e.g. QuickBooks Online, Dext, etc.)
  • Able to step into existing files and quickly get oriented

Pay: $32.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 – 15 per week

Experience:

  • Bookkeeping: 5 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Certified Bookkeeper (required)
